Fofana, 24, picked up the injury in a game against Aston Villa in early December. Though he has featured only 12 times this season due to injuries, his on-field input has been humongous. His return should solidify Chelsea’s defense as the club battles for a top-four finish and qualification to the Champions League.

Experts point out the importance of securing maximum points from those matches to propel the club further up the league table. Ex-Arsenal player Paul Merson commented on the matter, stating, “If they don’t win their next two games, the manager won’t be there.” These statements point to the enormous expectations of the upcoming games.
Head coach Enzo Maresca was also delighted with Fofana’s return, adding that the defender’s work and the professionalism of the medical team were crucial in his return as soon as possible. “Wesley’s rehabilitation attitude has been excellent.
