From French side RC Lens, Austrian international defender Kevin Danso has been happily signed by Tottenham Hotspur at London on February 2, 2025. The €25 million contract secures Danso’s services through June 2030, therefore strengthening Spurs’ backline.
Joining in 2021, 26-year-old Danso has been a critical player for RC Lens, with nearly 130 appearances and much help for their strong second-place Ligue 1 finish last season, which guarantees them a UEFA Champions League berth. Top European teams, including Juventus and Aston Villa, are taking notice of his consistent play.
Danso was first about to go on loan with Wolverhampton Wanderers, and a medical check-up was arranged. Still, Tottenham’s key turnover turned the contract into a permanent transfer, highlighting the team’s resolve to bolster its defense in light of injuries to important players like Radu Dragusin and Cristian Romero.
At 1.90 meters, Danso stands commanding presence center-backs in Coordinates. From Reading and MK Dons of England’s youth systems, his trip brought him to FC Augsburg of Germany. At 18 years and 165 days, he became the youngest Bundesliga debutant in Augsburg history. With a loan spell at Southampton throughout the 2019-2020 Premier League season, he gained much needed knowledge in English soccer.
Representing Austria in many tournaments including the UEFA Euro 2024, Danso has garnered 24 caps for Austria on the international scene since his first game in 2017.

Joining the team right away, Danso will seek to bolster the defense of Tottenham as they vie in European and national events.
