Sevilla FC is set to offer a trial to Nigerian footballer Olagreat after his audacious social media request garnered over 100,000 retweets, surpassing the club’s stipulated challenge.

Olagreat, who previously showcased his skills with Superstar FC in the Lagos Liga and FUTA Tigers in the Nigerian University League Games, reached out to Sevilla FC’s official English Twitter account, inquiring about the possibility of a trial. The club responded by setting a benchmark of 100,000 retweets, a target that Olagreat’s tweet swiftly exceeded, amassing over 120,000 retweets and 8.6 million impressions.

This remarkable social media campaign has not only highlighted Olagreat’s determination but also underscores the power of digital platforms in bridging gaps between aspiring athletes and professional clubs. Sevilla FC, renowned for its seven-time Europa League triumphs, is home to Nigerian internationals Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho. Ejuke joined the club in June 2024 on a three-year deal after his tenure with CSKA Moscow, bringing versatility and attacking prowess to the squad.  Iheanacho, known for his clinical finishing and playmaking abilities, has also been a valuable addition to the team’s offensive lineup.

The potential inclusion of Olagreat aligns with Sevilla FC’s commitment to nurturing emerging talents and fostering diversity within its ranks. The club’s willingness to engage with aspiring players through unconventional avenues reflects its progressive approach to talent acquisition and community engagement.
