Initial reports on Michail Antonio’s case suggests he’ll be out of football action for at least one year. The West Ham striker, who was engaged in a horrific accident last week Saturday, has undergone a surgery on a broken leg and has now started his recovery journey.
The Club has confirmed in its official report that Antonio is in a stable condition and has been communicating with those close to him since the terrifying incident. Antonio, who was airlifted to the hospital after crashing his Ferrari in Epping, faces the possibility of early retirement (worst case scenario). Although medical reports suggest there’s still a chance of seeing him return to action after full rehabilitation. The Club and everybody around Antonio will be hoping he responds well to treatment.

The Jamaican forward still has a contract with West Ham until the end of the season and, while we are hoping to see him back in football action soon, it remains to be seen what happens to his career from here.
Antonio moved to West Ham from Nottingham Forest in 2015 for £7 million. He has since been a regular name in the club’s match list, having bagged 323 appearances, scoring 83 goals while at it.
What’s Next
Micheil Antonio would have been in contention for a place in West Ham’s starting eleven this Monday, if he didn’t get involved in the accident. He has started 11 of the club’s 14 matches so far this season and netted twice.
However, all attention will now shift to his recovery after facing a life-threatening situation. In its official statement, the club wished Michael Antonio quick recovery, assuring family and well wishers of their support throughout the trying time.
“Everyone at the club wishes Michail a speedy recovery and wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the football family at large for the overwhelming support shown since yesterday’s news, as well as extending a heartfelt thank you to the emergency services and first responders who attended to Michail in the immediate aftermath of the incident, and the medical team who continue to aid him in his recovery.”
Fingers crossed, we look forward to what the future holds for the exciting striker as we keep getting updates about his recovery from the club.
