Wolverhampton Wanderers secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. The match was a pulsating Premier League contest that saw both teams create numerous scoring opportunities.

Hwang Hee-chan’s stunning curler from the edge of the box gave Wolves an early lead in the 6th minute. However, Tottenham responded quickly, and Rodrigo Bentancur’s header from a Pedro Porro corner leveled the scores in the 12th minute.

The first half was action-packed, with both teams pushing for another goal. Tottenham had a penalty saved by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa in the 41st minute, after Rayan Ait-Nouri was adjudged to have fouled Dejan Kulusevski in the box. However, Son Heung-min‘s spot-kick was expertly saved by Sa.

Despite the setback, Tottenham continued to press, and Brennan Johnson scored a second goal for the hosts in the 45th minute, turning a cross from Dejan Kulusevski into the net.

As the match seemed destined for a Tottenham win, Wolves staged a late comeback. Jorgen Strand Larsen’s excellent finish, following a brilliant pass from Rayan Ait-Nouri, leveled the scores in the 87th minute.

The draw leaves Tottenham 11th in the Premier League table with 24 points from 19 matches, while Wolves sit 17th. However, Wolves have now accumulated seven points from their three league fixtures under new head coach Vitor Pereira.

The result piles pressure on Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou, whose future is increasingly uncertain. Despite showing character to respond from the early setback, Tottenham’s inability to close out the match has cost them dearly, with just one point from their last three league matches.

Wolves’ performance was impressive, with both of their goals showcasing the team’s quality. Pereira’s impact since his arrival has been significant, and the team appears to be moving in the right direction.
