Manchester United’s woes continued as they suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, making it their third loss in four Premier League matches. The Red Devils’ struggles with defending set pieces continued, as Dean Huijsen headed in Ryan Christie’s free-kick to give Bournemouth the lead in the first half.

This was the sixth consecutive match where Manchester United conceded the opening goal, and their woes deepened when Justin Kluivert scored from the penalty spot after Noussair Mazraoui fouled him in the box just past the hour mark.

Antoine Semenyo sealed the win with a fine finish just two minutes and eight seconds later, condemning Manchester United to their seventh loss of the season.

The defeat marked a dismal day for Manchester United, who slipped to 13th in the Premier League table, their lowest position at Christmas since the 1989-90 season.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, jumped to fifth place, capitalizing on Manchester United’s struggles.

Ruben Amorim’s side has struggled to find consistency, and this loss highlighted their vulnerabilities, particularly in defending set pieces.

Manchester United made six changes to the starting lineup following their Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat to Tottenham, but the shuffle failed to yield a positive result.

Bournemouth, who made just one change to their lineup, arrived at Old Trafford having won their previous two away games. The visitors’ victory marked the second consecutive season they have won 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will look to bounce back on Boxing Day when they face Wolves at Molineux, before hosting Newcastle United on December 30.
