Manchester City is delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated Uzbekistan international defender, Abdukodir Khusanov, from Ligue 1 side RC Lens. The 20-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League champions, extending until the summer of 2029, with an option for an additional year. The deal is reportedly worth €40 million, with up to €10 million in potential add-ons.
Khusanov’s transfer is groundbreaking, as he becomes the first Uzbek player to feature in the Premier League. His rapid rise to prominence has been remarkable; just 18 months ago, he was playing in Belarus for Energetik-BGU Minsk before joining Lens in July 2023.
