Eintracht Frankfurt has officially declined Manchester City’s initial offer for star forward Omar Marmoush. The Premier League champions proposed a bid of €70 million (£60 million) for the Egyptian international, which falls short of Eintracht’s valuation. The Bundesliga club is holding out for a fee closer to €80 million (£67 million) for their prolific scorer.

Marmoush, 25, has been instrumental in Eintracht Frankfurt’s attacking lineup this season, netting 13 goals and providing seven assists in just 15 Bundesliga appearances. His exceptional performance has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Manchester City, who are keen to bolster their offensive options following the departure of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.

Despite the speculation, Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, has reiterated the club’s intent to retain their key players during the winter transfer window. Krosche stated, “Our basic intention is to keep the squad together. Something extraordinary would have to happen for us to move away from this position.”

Marmoush himself has addressed the rumors, expressing his commitment to Eintracht Frankfurt. He commented, “I am living in the here and now and enjoying my time in Frankfurt. Eintracht believed in me and put their trust in me. I want to repay that trust with good performances and goals.”

Manchester City, under manager Pep Guardiola, remains determined to secure Marmoush’s services to enhance their attacking depth alongside Erling Haaland. Reports suggest that City may return with an improved offer to meet Eintracht’s valuation.
