The charitable arm of Nigeria’s leading online bookmaker, Bet9ja Foundation, has just completed the much-needed renovation of the Ajiran Mini Stadium in Lagos. This act of goodwill reveals how serious the Foundation is in taking up the mantle of redeveloping sports centers and amenities in communities all over the nation.
Renewal of Sports Infrastructure at Grassroots Level
The dilapidated condition of Ajiran Mini Stadium certainly looks different today. This of course included artificial turf, seating, modern light, and better drainage. All those changes brought more safety for the local athletes to compete and great fun for both local athletes and fans of all sports.
Empowering Youths Through Sporting Activities
Sports keep youngsters fit, help them learn teamwork, and develop self-discipline. Renovating the Ajiran Mini Stadium, Bet9ja Foundation is affording the youth in Lagos an opportunity to hone their skills and pursue their aspirations in sports. This is quite in line with the objective of the Foundation to contribute to youth and sports across the country.
A Record of Making a Difference
Since its inception, in Nigeria the projects carried out by the Bet9ja Foundation are over 132 in 29 states and the investments exceed the sum of N 500 million. Some of their projects include Graduate Employability and Enterprise Summit, Young Executive Program etc, and some numerous local sport programs.
Community Involvement and Way Forward
The Foundation realizes that true change is effected at the grassroots. In the next few months, the Bet9ja Foundation will hold a series of regular sports clinics, tournaments, and mentorship programs at the Ajiran Mini Stadium, towards engaging the community’s youth in sports and talent discovery for further development.
