FC Bayern Munich is delighted to announce that a total verbal agreement has been reached with Joshua Kimmich to extend his contract with the club until 2029. This agreement underscores both the club’s and the player’s commitment to a shared future, solidifying Kimmich’s role as a central figure in Bayern’s ongoing success.

Kimmich, 30, joined Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig in 2015 and has since become an indispensable part of the team. His versatility, leadership, and consistent performances have contributed significantly to the club’s achievements over the past decade. Throughout his tenure, Kimmich has amassed 426 appearances, scored 43 goals, and played a pivotal role in securing eight Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League trophy in 2020.

Despite interest from several top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Real Madrid, Kimmich’s priority has always been to continue his journey with Bayern Munich. The club’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, highlighted Kimmich’s strong performance and comfort within the team, stating that the player leads both on and off the pitch.

The negotiations, which were already advanced 10 days ago, have now culminated in a verbal agreement, with final paperwork in progress. Contracts are set to be signed this week, and an official announcement is planned soon.

This extension aligns with Bayern Munich’s strategy to maintain stability within the squad by retaining key players. Recent renewals with Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala further demonstrate the club’s commitment to securing its core talents for the future.
Kimmich’s decision to extend his contract reflects his dedication to Bayern Munich and his belief in the club’s vision. His leadership qualities and experience are invaluable assets as the team continues to compete at the highest levels both domestically and internationally.
