AC Milan is delighted to announce that an agreement has been reached with Manchester City for the loan signing of esteemed right-back Kyle Walker. The 34-year-old defender will join the Rossoneri on a 12-month loan, with AC Milan covering his salary during this period. The deal also includes a non-mandatory buy option, allowing the club to assess the potential for a permanent transfer at the conclusion of the loan term.

Kyle Walker, a pivotal figure in Manchester City’s defense since his arrival in 2017, has amassed an impressive collection of accolades, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and a Champions League trophy. His leadership qualities were further recognized when he captained City to their most recent Premier League triumph.

The decision to seek a new challenge abroad was confirmed by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who stated, “Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad and end his career.”  AC Milan emerged as the frontrunner for Walker’s signature, with negotiations advancing swiftly to finalize the loan arrangement.

Walker expressed his enthusiasm for the move, highlighting AC Milan’s storied history and the opportunity to contribute to the club’s ambitions. He also emphasized his desire to continue competing at the highest level in Europe, aiming to reach the milestone of 100 caps for the England national team.

AC Milan’s management views Walker’s arrival as a strategic enhancement to the squad, bringing invaluable experience and versatility to the defensive lineup. His renowned speed and tactical acumen are expected to bolster the team’s performance in both domestic and European competitions.

The club is confident that Walker’s integration will be seamless, given his familiarity with several English players currently at Milan, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori. This camaraderie is anticipated to facilitate his adaptation to Serie A and contribute positively to the team’s dynamics.
