The survey, conducted by Slottozilla, polled 2,500 British adults between 18 and 55. Voters ranked 50 leading footballers against ratings including facial looks, grooming, style, on-pitch personality, and social media superstar appeal. Palmer was the top vote winner with 19%, followed by 17% for Bellingham and 15% for Grealish.
Palmer’s arrival at this title is particularly relevant in light of his recent elevation at the national level of football. Having traveled from Manchester City’s academy squad to a pivot role at Chelsea, his performances have not just reinforced his picture on the ground, but extended his popularity among the general population. His flair style, followed by a strong personality, has resonated strongly with fans countrywide.
Regional loyalties were also indicated in the findings of the survey. Palmer drew massive support from the Midlands and North West regions, areas nearby his initial stint at Manchester City. His colleague Jack Grealish preferred the London and South East areas particularly, thanks to his “effortless style and sharp looks.” In turn, Erling Haaland’s “striking features and powerful physique” received a connection with Scotland. Despite his global popularity and five Ballon d’Or awards, Cristiano Ronaldo, now 40 and playing for Al-Nassr, finished eighth in the overall list but remained Northern Ireland’s first choice.
