Jesùs Vallejo to Leave Real Madrid by Season’s End

Real Madrid CF announces that defender Jesús Vallejo will be leaving the club at the end of the 2024–2025 campaign, given that an agreement has been reached not to extend his contract beyond its current term, June 30, 2025.

Jesús Vallejo, 28, signed for Real Madrid in 2015 from Real Zaragoza for a transfer fee of €5 million. During the last decade, he has been in the squad for numerous title-winning seasons, contributing to the club’s different domestic and international titles. In this period, he has been loaned out to Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Granada CF, accumulating great experience throughout European leagues.

Considering such professionalism and commitment, the presence of Vallejo in the recent seasons has come out as just a few in the first teams. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has preferred to avoid using alternative defensive elements, preferring midfielders in backlines, thus reducing playing time for Vallejo. This season, he only managed to get a few, and therefore symbolizes the hard work he’s experienced in search of a sure place in the lineup.

Real Madrid and Vallejo have mutually agreed to go their separate ways at the end of this campaign, considering that such a step would benefit both the club and the player, given that the player would thus be afforded an opportunity of securing regular playing time in another environment and further his professional development.

Real Madrid wants to show its gratitude to Jesús Vallejo for the commitment, professionalism, and contributions he has shown in all these years with the team; it wishes him the best in his future endeavors, with the conviction that he will continue to develop his football career.

During the season, Vallejo will stay in the Real Madrid squad and will further prepare himself with his teammates. The club and the player are entirely focused on the team’s goals for the rest of the campaign and want to see the season out in style.
