Manchester City is delighted to confirm the acquisition of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, committing his future to the club until the summer of 2029.
The transfer agreement entails an initial fee of £59 million (€70 million), with potential add-ons amounting to an additional £5 million (€5 million), bringing the total potential cost to £64 million (€75 million). Omar Marmoush will wear the number 7 shirt for City.
This signing elevates Manchester City’s total expenditure in the January transfer window to over £120 million, following the recent acquisitions of defenders Vitor Reis from Palmeiras and Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens.
Marmoush has been in exceptional form this season, netting 15 goals in the Bundesliga, just one behind the league’s top scorer, Harry Kane.
Since joining Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, he has amassed 37 goals and 20 assists in 67 appearances, underscoring his offensive prowess.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Marmoush stated: “Joining Manchester City is a dream come true. I am eager to contribute to the club’s success and work under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.”
Txiki Begiristain, Manchester City’s Director of Football, commented: “Omar is a player we have admired for some time. His pace, awareness, and goal-scoring ability make him a valuable addition to our squad. We believe he will further develop under Pep’s guidance.”
Marmoush’s versatility allows him to operate across the front line, providing tactical flexibility. His arrival is expected to bolster Manchester City’s attacking options, especially following the departure of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid last summer.
This signing reflects Manchester City’s commitment to strengthening the squad as the club aims to compete at the highest levels domestically and in Europe.
