FC Bayern Munich is delighted to announce the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Tom Bischof from TSG Hoffenheim. The German youth international will join Bayern on a free transfer this summer, committing to a four-year contract that extends until June 30, 2029.
Tom Bischof, born in Aschaffenburg, Germany, has been with Hoffenheim since the age of six, progressing through their academy to make his Bundesliga debut in March 2022 at just 16 years old. He has since accumulated 53 first-team appearances across all competitions, contributing two goals and five assists. His performances earned him the prestigious Fritz Walter Gold Medal in 2024, recognizing him as Germany’s top talent in the U19 category.
Bischof’s decision to join Bayern Munich comes after direct discussions with head coach Vincent Kompany. Despite interest from several prominent clubs, including Arsenal and Newcastle United, Bischof was convinced by Bayern’s vision and the opportunity to develop under Kompany’s leadership.
Sporting Director Christoph Freund expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition, stating, “Tom Bischof is one of the biggest German talents, who’s also attracted international interest. At the age of just 19, he’s already gained a lot of experience in professional football, in the Bundesliga as well as in the DFB Cup and Europa League. Tom is an ideal fit for our philosophy as a technically gifted midfielder. We’re pleased he’s decided to take his next steps at FC Bayern. Tom has all the attributes to establish himself at the highest level.”
Bischof is known for his exceptional ball control, vision, and creative playmaking abilities. His versatility allows him to operate effectively both centrally and in wide positions, making him a valuable asset for Bayern’s midfield.
