Newcastle United’s striker, Alexander Isak, has been awarded the Premier League’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month for December 2024, marking his first receipt of this prestigious honor.
Throughout December, Isak delivered an exceptional performance, scoring eight goals and providing two assists across six league matches. His contributions were instrumental in Newcastle’s ascent to fifth place in the Premier League standings, positioning them firmly in contention for a top-four finish.
Isak’s December highlights include a remarkable hat-trick against Ipswich Town, where he became the first Newcastle player to achieve a Premier League hat-trick since 2019. Additionally, he found the net in matches against Liverpool, Brentford, Leicester City, Aston Villa, and Manchester United. His goal in the 3-3 draw with league leaders Liverpool has been shortlisted for December’s Guinness Goal of the Month award.
This accolade places Isak among an elite group of Swedish players who have received the Premier League Player of the Month award, joining the ranks of Freddie Ljungberg, Johan Elmander, and Zlatan Ibrahimović. He is also the first Newcastle player to earn this honor since October 2022.
