AC Milan produced a stunning comeback to beat their arch-rivals Inter Milan 3-2 in the Supercoppa Italiana, lifting the trophy in Saudi Arabia. Inter had taken a commanding 2-0 lead through goals from Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi, but Milan’s determination and resilience paid off as they staged an incredible turnaround in the second half.

Theo Hernandez sparked the comeback with a brilliant free-kick, halving the deficit before Christian Pulisic equalized with a sweet strike. Just as the game seemed destined for penalty kicks, Tammy Abraham struck in the dying moments to seal a thrilling 3-2 victory for Milan.

The match got off to a lively start, with both teams creating scoring opportunities. Alvaro Morata’s attempted pass to Pulisic nearly put the American through on goal, but Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer intervened just in time. Moments later, Malick Thiaw made an excellent challenge to stop Lautaro Martinez from getting in on goal.

Pulisic made a brilliant pass to find Tijjani Reijnders’ run behind the Inter defense, but the youngster’s shot hit the side-netting. Mehdi Taremi, facing his former boss Sergio Conceicao, should have done better with a header from a deep cross.

Milan continued to breach Inter’s defense, with Reijnders weaving around two men and into the box, only to toe-poke his effort wide. Mike Maignan was called into action to palm away a shot from Federico Dimarco, while Hakan Calhanoglu’s injury forced him off before halftime.

Inter took a surprise lead just before halftime, with Taremi finding Lautaro Martinez, who fired low into the back of the net. The Nerazzurri doubled their advantage immediately after the break, with Taremi turning provider to scorer, bending a precise shot inside the right post.

Conceicao responded by introducing Rafael Leao, who made an instant impact. Leao surged forward after Inter lost possession, earning a free-kick that Theo Hernandez converted with a brilliant curling effort into the bottom corner.

The action exploded in the second half, with Maignan saving a stinging shot from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pulisic heading straight at Sommer from a few yards out. Leao’s cut-back found Reijnders, whose shot was blocked by Alessandro Bastoni’s header.

Sommer produced more heroics to thwart Morata’s header, while Inter were inches away from re-establishing a two-goal lead when Augusto’s header hit the post.

With less than 15 minutes remaining, Conceicao introduced fresh legs, bringing on Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. In the 79th minute, Pulisic leveled the score, bringing the ball under control and finding the far corner with a shot across his body.

Just as the game seemed destined for penalty kicks, Pulisic’s brilliant through ball found Leao, who squared for Abraham to tap in the winner, sparking rapturous scenes.
