Arsenal Football Club has confirmed that winger Bukayo Saka will be sidelined for more than two months after undergoing successful surgery on a hamstring injury. Manager Mikel Arteta provided the update following Arsenal’s recent victory over Ipswich Town.

Saka, who has been instrumental for the Gunners this season with 9 goals and 13 assists, sustained the injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 win against Crystal Palace on December 21. He was seen leaving the stadium on crutches, prompting concerns about his availability for the upcoming fixtures.

Arteta stated, “He underwent a procedure, everything went well, but unfortunately, he will be out for many weeks. I think it will extend beyond two months”. The recovery timeline will depend on how the scar tissue heals in the coming weeks.

In Saka’s absence, Arsenal will need to adapt their attacking strategy as they aim to maintain their position in the Premier League. The team currently sits second in the league standings and is preparing for their next match against Brentford on New Year’s Day.
